New Business Area President at the Trelleborg Group

Peter Hahn has been appointed new Business Area President of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions as of January 1, 2018. He succeeds Claus Barsøe and will like his predecessor be a member of Group Management. Claus Barsøe will become Executive Vice President within Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, focusing on the transition to the new president and future business development.

Peter Hahn, born in 1958, has dual U.S. and German citizenship and is currently President Global Business Development including global head of the aerospace and automotive segments at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions. He has held various senior positions in the business area since 2001; he headed on site the business area’s Americas operation and for a long time its European operation; the two operations combined constitute three-quarters of the business area’s sales. In addition, he has been responsible for the establishment of the global hubs for aerospace and automotive, a number of acquisitions and the business area’s expansion in Eastern Europe. Before joining Trelleborg, Peter worked in various senior management positions at 4M Technologies, Leybold and Degussa.

Claus Barsøe has been Business Area President of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions since 2003. He has been a major asset and a main contributor in the successful development of the business area for almost 15 years.

Trelleborg acquires manufacturer of advanced composite components

Trelleborg has, through its business area Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, signed an agreement to acquire the U.S.-based privately-owned Automated Dynamics that specializes in the manufacturing of advanced composite components.

Composites are a strategic, adjacent technology for Trelleborg with high potential in a multiple of industries. Completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the relevant authorities.The company is located in Niskayuna, New York. Sales amounted to approximately SEK 65 M in 2016. This bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.

We already see many opportunities for new products, applications and materials for the aerospace and oil & gas markets, and in the long-term also for other markets. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the third quarter of 2017.

Showcasing Service PLUS at IFPE 2017

Visitors to Trelleborg Sealing Solutions booth S81616 at IFPE in Las Vegas from 7 to 11 March will learn about the Service PLUS program that delivers Value Added Solutions for the Entire Supply Chain. Trelleborg Speeds Up Manufacturing with New Logistics Service

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has launched an innovative logistics service to provide a faster inventory and manufacturing process for industrial businesses that is designed to help simplify stock ordering and reduce administration.

Users can scan product bar codes to automatically generate orders for replenishment of stock, which will be delivered by Trelleborg directly to a user’s production line.

The Seal Scan app is compatible with a range of iOS devices and is part of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Service PLUS program, aimed at simplifying workflows in every part of industrial business; from engineering to manufacturing, procurement to aftermarket.

Trelleborg Acquires Manufacturer of Precision Seals for the Aerospace Industry

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has signed an agreement to acquire a U.S.-based subsidiary of CoorsTek, Inc. that specializes in the manufacturing of precision seals for the aerospace industry.

The acquisition will further strengthen Trelleborg’s presence in North America and in sealing solutions for major aircraft programs. Completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the relevant authorities.

The operation is located in El Segundo, California. Sales amounted to approximately SEK 115 M in 2015. This bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.

“The acquired operation is well-known in the industry for its technical solutions, good quality and on time delivery and I am delighted to welcome it to Trelleborg. The aerospace market is an important growth market and the acquired operation’s product range of various PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) seals and other custom-made plastic components fits very well into our product portfolio and future strategy,” says Claus Barsøe, President of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area.

The transaction is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Trelleborg Acquires Anderson Seal

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has signed an agreement and finalized the acquisition of Anderson Seal LLC, a privately owned US-based seal distributor and value-added service partner.

This acquisition supports the growth strategy of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions and further expands the delivery and service of seals, gaskets and custom-molded products for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in industries such as automotive, hydraulic, and medical/life sciences. The acquisition will significantly increase the presence for Trelleborg in the Midwestern United States and accelerate its advanced delivery services.

The acquired company has an office and warehouse in New Berlin, Wisconsin. With sales amounting to approximately $17 M in 2015. This bolt-on acquisition is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.
